The school finally got what it had been waiting for – a new playground.

The P&C lobbied for it two years ago because the old one was too worn and have been successful in securing a $36,000 government grant.

The campaign to get a replacement was championed by Marilyn Tasker, of Kyeemagh, who recently died of lung cancer.

Her grandson Jack goes to the school which plans to have a memorial plaque installed in her honour.

Pupils also took part in the recent National Ride 2 School Day.

The annual event promotes physical exercises by encouraging children to ride their bike to school.

Two St George police officers were there to chat to children about road safety.
