The under-18s won a tough semi-final battle against Macksville in the opening game of the semi-final. Both teams had a nervous start to the game.

The young Mustangs settled their play and eventually got the better of Macks-ville. It was a very entertaining game of rugby league which the Mustangs won 22-12.

The reserve grade game was a close affair in the first half, with the Mustangs having a slight 16-12 lead at half-time.

“With our pace and ability to throw the ball around, we ended up running away with the game,” Spalding said.

“They all played as a team. I do believe we will meet them (Woolgoolga) again in the grand final.”
