After having successful stem-cell surgery on one knee, his other knee buckled in last week’s game against North Queensland.

On Friday an arthroscope discovered a torn anterior cruciate ligament, so he had LARS surgery in the hope of a quick recovery.

However, the medical staff don’t expect him back before round 20.

The Sharks had already lost winger Nathan Stapleton (LARS knee surgery) and promising local junior, Chad Townsend, who suffered a fractured sternum in a NSW Cup game against the Mounties last week.

Derby rivalry

THE Sharks have launched a Rivalry Round Pack in preparation for this Saturday night’s big local derby against the Dragons.

The first 400 people to buy a pack will receive a reserved seat in the Peter Burns Stand, and also becomes a non-ticketed Member of the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks Football Club.

THERE will be plenty of local derby fireworks on the field, but even before the game the sky will light up at Toyota Stadium. A huge fireworks display will be part of the pre-game entertainment.
