Feros, of Sylvania Waters, continued the trend in recent years where no less than success on an international scale is enough to win the award.

In a year where she had to contend with studying for her HSC, Feros, 17, swept the field to win all four races and be named junior world champion in Queensland.

“I definitely did not expect to win every single race,” Feros said.

It was a sweet moment for the teen who has had to overcome a series of setbacks.

She narrowly missed a place in the Australian team at the past two junior world titles finishing third — one place behind automatic qualification.

Her world title win came off the back of Australian and NSW under-19 marathon titles earlier last year.

Feros will decide if she will compete in next year’s world titles where she will be a senior.

She joined the likes of Todd Woodbridge, Michael Diamond, Susie Maroney, Rochelle Gilmore and Kate Hollywood in taking out the award.
