Two St George men to appear in court on multiple robbery charges

Two men will appear in Sutherland Local Court tomorrow charged with a range of offences relating to car theft and robbery in southern Sydney and being involved in a police pursuit last month.

Officers attached to the Metropolitan Robbery Unit and Hurstville Local Area Command used search warrants about 8.30am this morning and arrested a man, 31 of Hurstville and a Beverly Hills man, 37.

Police allegedly seized a number of items of interest from both homes, including clothing, tools and stolen goods linked to a number of recent robberies in Sydney.

Both men were taken to Hurstville Police Station where police said they were charged with offences relating to:

– motor vehicle theft from Kingsgrove Road, Kingsgrove on March 5.

– armed robbery of a service station on Captain Cook Drive, Caringbah on March 6.

– motor vehicle theft from Hotham Parade, Artarmon on March 14.

– armed robbery of a restaurant on Edinburgh Road, Castlecrag, a newsagency on Port Hacking Road Caringbah and a service station on Carvers Road, Oyster Bay on March 17.

– armed robbery of a convenience store on Ewos Parade, Cronulla on March 20.

– armed robbery of a service station on Kingsgrove Road, Kingsgrove on March 21.

– conspiracy to commit aggravated break, enter and stealing at a licensed premises in Coogee and theft of a motor vehicle from Carrington Road, Coogee on March 30.

– police pursuit and related traffic offences on Gardeners Road, Kingsford March 30.

– motor vehicle theft on Hearne Street, Mortdale on April 2.

– aggravated break, enter and stealing at a convenience store on Dudley Street, Coogee on April 3.

Both men were denied bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court tomorrow.
