Ms Wood, 26, has started a challenging walk for a worthy cause.

She plans to walk 2000 kilometres by August but she will stretch the distance out across six months, and walk an average of about 11 kilometres each day.

The teaching student is raising money for the UK charity organisation, Classrooms in the Clouds.

Funds will be used to build a new school in Nepal, where children have to walk more than two hours each day to school.

Ms Wood is clocking up the kilometres by walking around her suburb or at the gym.

“I am passionate about the right for all children to be given the opportunity to receive an education,” Ms Wood said.

“It costs $50,000 to build the whole school, so it would be awesome to raise that.”
