Nanjing Night Net

The program involves taking water samples from streams and foreshore sites along the Georges River, and the data collected forms the basis of the committee’s annual river health report card.

Free training on identifying water bugs is provided to all volunteers.

The next round of sampling will be:

¦ Saturday, April 28, 9am to 1pm in Lime Kiln Bay, Oatley

¦ Sunday, May 20, 9am to 1pm at Mill Creek, Menai.

Access to some sites is slightly difficult, and volunteers must have a moderate level of fitness.

Community organisations, school groups and Bushcare groups are encouraged to volunteer.

Volunteers must bring a long-sleeve shirt and gum boots.
