Liberal spread at meeting

SENATORS, state MPs andfederal Liberal party candidateswere out in force at MurrayBridge last week.

About 15 politicians descendedon the city for the Liberal Party’sRural and Regional Councilannual general meeting at theMurray Bridge and DistrictCommunity Club on Friday.

Among the throng was NewSouth Wales Senator BillHeffernan, deputy StateOpposition leader VickiChapman, South AustralianSenator Corey Bernardi, Memberfor Hammond Adrian Pederickand Federal candidate for BarkerTony Pasin.

South Australian SenatorSimon Birmingham, State MPsMichael Pengilly, MarkGoldsworthy, John Gardner, JohnDawkins and Stephen Wade andSouth Australian Senator-designateAnn Ruston were also inattendance.

Along with the big names,there were also about 120 localLiberal Party members at themeeting.

Senator Heffernan was thekeynote speaker for the event,addressing the crowd on the foodand energy security challengesthat Australia was expected toface in the next 50 years.

Following the meeting, theSenator accompanied MrPederick on a brief tour of theMurray Bridge area, including avisit to Adelaide Mushrooms atMonarto.

Mr Pederick said he wasimpressed with the turnout atthe annual general meeting.

Discussing plans: Liberal party politicians Adrian Pederick, Vicki Chapman, Corey Bernardi, Bill Heffernan, Tony Pasin and Sean Edwards, along with many others, met at the Murray Bridge and District Community Club on Friday for a party council meeting.
