Keys Please at Secondary College

Keys Please, the first step into thedriver’s seat, is a 70 minute information session for learner drivers and theirsupervisors.

The session is being conducted byVicRoads in the language centre at the Stawell Secondary College tomorrow from7pm.

Keys Please is for year 10 studentsand their supervising driver/s and any year 11 students who have not previouslyattended the session. It is for those with or without a learner’s permit, in orout of school.

There are important new learner andprobationary rules that we all need to know about. Attending Keys Please willhelp learner drivers understand and meet the new L and P requirements andachieve the mandatory 120 hours supervised practice so you can avoid delays inbeing able to sit for your probationary licence test once you turn 18.

Delays in reaching the target canaffect your travel to work, TAFE or university in the near future and extendthe time in which you remain on your learners permit.

Keys Please is a fun, free andinformative session presented to supervisors and learner drivers, assistingthem in having a more positive and enjoyable learning-to-drive experience.There will be lucky door prizes and giveaways throughout the night.

The learner driver age is 16 and teenagers about to reachthis age, or those who are already on the road, are urged to invite any familyor friends who may also be a supervising driver to attend Keys Please at theSecondary College tomorrow.

Parents are encouraged to allow their teenagers as much time behind the wheel as possible.
